Milk and Honey Foot Bath

Between long hikes, days at the beach and working in the garden, our feet take a true beating in the summer.

Give your feet the attention they deserve as we move into cozy sock season with this therapeutic honey and milk foot soak.

Cleopatra was known to submerge in fragrant milk and honey baths to maintain soft and supple skin. Milk contains soothing vitamin D and exfoliating lactic acid, while honey is rich in antibacterial properties and seals in moisture as a humectant. Together, these power ingredients will wash away the wear and tear of summer and reveal soft and touchable toes as for fall.

1 cup boiling water
1 cup raw Alberta honey
2 cups milk
½ cup sea salt
3 tbsp baking soda
2-3 drops of your favorite fragrant essential oil (optional)

In a large pot boil water and add in honey. Mix well until the honey is dissolved completely.
Stir in milk.
Once blended, remove from heat and add baking soda and salt. Mix to combine.
Allow to cool. Once bathwater-temperature, pour into foot bath container and add your favourite essential oil.
Soak your feet for 15-20 minutes and follow with your favourite foot or body cream.
