GREIDANUS HONEY BEE FARM in Stettler, Alberta is accepting applications for the 2026 season on a seasonal full-time basis. The following positions need to be filled: 4 APIARY TECHNICIANS (NOC 84120) Full time employment (40+ hrs/week) $19-$21/hr depending on experience. Must have minimum 3 years of experience working full time on a commercial honeybee farm. Duties include: woodwork (building bee related equipment), caring for bees in an appropriate manner, coordinating the production of replacement bees and equipment; recognizing, reporting, monitoring hive health issues and applying appropriate treatments/controls. Moving hives as required; harvest, extract and package honey, lead small teams of workers, drive and maintain vehicles, operate and maintain other bee related equipment such as forklifts, conduct bee yard maintenance, general cleaning of working/production areas. Must have a valid driver’s license. These positions are from March 15, 2026 thru October 31, 2026. 2 APIARY WORKERS (NOC 85100) Full time (40+ hrs/ week) $18.50/hr depending on experience. Minimum 1 year experience. Duties include: woodwork (building bee related equipment), caring for bees in an appropriate manner, assisting technicians with bees and equipment, assisting with moving bees, assisting with honey harvest, extraction and packaging, assisting with bee yard and equipment maintenance, cleaning of working/production areas. These positions are from April 15, 2026 thru October 31,2026. 2 CASUAL FARM LABOURERS (NOC 85100) $18.50 / hr. Duties include: working with cattle, honey bees, farm organization/production, operating farm equipment, and general maintenance of the farm and equipment. These positions are from June 1, 2026 thru October 31, 2026. All wages are negotiable based on experience and productivity. All positions may require some night and weekend work. All applicants must be able to work in the presence of bees, be in good physical condition and able to work in a team environment. On farm housing is available. 1 BEE FARM WORKER (NOC 85100) Greidanus Honey Bee Farm is seeking an individual to fill a vacancy, starting June 1, 2026 till Oct 31, 2028, as a Bee Farm Worker. This is a fulltime permanent position. Hours of work will vary season to season. An aggregate average of 40 hours per week with additional hours during busy seasons can be expected. Guaranteed Sundays are a day off. During Summer, expect to work 6 days per week. Compensation is $20 – $25 per hour plus vacation pay (4% of gross). Compensation for statutory holidays in alignment with provincial labour regulations. The compensation will be commensurate with skill and experience. A bonus, contingent on the farm entity performance, may be added to the compensation package, annually. Accommodation is available, with conditions, if required. A two year contract of employment will be required to be signed. The eligible candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent education. The eligible candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience working as an apiary worker in a commercial western Canadian beekeeping operation. Being able to diagnose, assess and treat diseases in Apis Melifera colonies. In the spring, care for and manage hives for pollination and honey production purposes. Harvest honey from the hives in summer (both field harvest and extracting); prepare hives for wintering in the fall. Maintaining work records in an electronic format, for the purposes of communicating with other team members, will be required. This is a physically demanding job and the successful candidate will be in an adequate physical condition to perform the required duties. Additionally, the successful candidate will have skill and experience welding (structural, pipe), minor electrical repairs (swapping out electrical motors and replacing switches), construction, vehicle repair and maintenance, and fencing (I have cows). The successful candidate will be required to assist in looking after a small herd of beef cattle and experience in beef cow husbandry is an asset. The successful candidate will know how to drive a tractor, operate a skid steer, forklift and have a valid class 5 drivers license with a clean abstract.
