WORKER BEE HONEY COMPANY LTD. – 2027 season
Worker Bee Honey Company Ltd. is a commercial beekeeping operation working out of Rosedale, BC, with the summer months at Boyle, AB. We are hiring for the following seasonal, full-time positions:
APIARY SUPERVISOR (3 positions)
- Season: February 16 to December 15, 2027
- Wage: $19.20 to $20.00 an hour
- Duties:
- Manage colonies for honey production and pollination.
- Detect and treat bee diseases.
- Harvest and extract honey.
- Maintain bee yards, equipment, trucks and buildings.
- Supervise 5 to 10 workers.
- Requirements: high-school diploma; 5 or more years of commercial beekeeping experience; valid driver’s licence (manual transmission).
APIARY TECHNICIAN (6 positions)
- Season: February 16 to October 30, 2027
- Wage: $18.60 an hour
- Duties:
- Care for colonies and monitor colony health and disease.
- Harvest honey.
- Operate and maintain trucks, forklifts and farm equipment.
- Keep daily progress reports.
- Requirements: 3 or more years of commercial beekeeping experience; valid driver’s licence (manual transmission); clean driving abstract.
APIARY WORKER (10 positions)
- Season: March 1 to September 30, 2027
- Wage: $18.34 an hour
- Duties:
- Maintain bee yards and equipment.
- Feed and tend colonies.
- Harvest and extract honey.
- Operate farm equipment
- Requirements: at least 1 year of beekeeping experience; valid driver’s licence.
All positions
- Hours: 40 to 70 hours a week, including early mornings, evenings, nights and weekends; overtime as required.
- Physical demands: outdoor work in heat and wet conditions, heavy lifting, bending and kneeling, long periods standing, repetitive tasks.
- Accommodation: provided at both locations.
- Bonus: discretionary performance bonus.
