THRIVE HONEY INC near Coaldale AB, (94056 H845), is seeking employees for the 2024 season. Apiary Technicians: 8431 (4 positions; starting at $16.50 -$21.00/hr.) and Apiary Workers NOC: 8431 (15 positions; starting at $16 - 18.50/hr.) and Farm Laborers (3 Positions; starting at $15.75-16.00/hr.) needed full time (45+ hrs./wk.) as early as February 1, 2024, up until November 16, 2024, weather depending. Some evening, night and weekend work will be required. Accommodations are available if required. All applicants must be willing to work with both leafcutter and honeybees, be in good physical condition, and work in a team environment. Having a valid Alberta driver’s license and the ability to speak English will be considered an asset. All applicants must be able to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain health and safety of self and others.

Apiary Technicians must have a minimum of 3 seasons of full-time experience in a commercial apiary, have the ability to supervise/train staff, have knowledge in commercial hive management for pollination, honey production, queen rearing and disease diagnosis. Must be able to oversee and maintain hive equipment, bee yard and storage facilities.

Apiary Workers must have a minimum of 1 season full time experience in a commercial apiary, and have knowledge to assist technicians with hive management, building and repairing bee equipment, placement/pick-up of pollination equipment, and honey harvest /extraction/processing. Must be able to maintain hive equipment, bee yard and storage facilities.

Apiary Laborers do not require any experience but must be committed to working with bees, be in good physical condition and can work in hot, sweaty, fast paced environment.

All wages are negotiable based on knowledge /experience/skill set. Personal Protection Equipment benefit is provided to all staff. Bonuses may be available.
