Voting at the AGM

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Alberta Beekeepers Commission is governed by the rules set out in the Alberta Beekeepers Plan Regulation. An eligible producer is eligible to cast a vote only if that producer’s name appears on the current list of eligible producers. An eligible producer is eligible to vote on any question put to a vote at an annual Commission meeting if the eligible producer is present at the meeting at which the vote is held.

Eligible producers who are not individuals must, in writing, appoint an individual to be the representative of the eligible producer. These declarations must be completed prior to the Call To Order for the session in which the vote is to take place. An individual cannot represent more than one eligible producer. The vote card belongs to the individual and cannot be transferred. To nominate a proxy to vote on your behalf, please complete the following proxy form and submit prior to the AGM to jules.ham@albertabeekeepers.ca

Resolutions

We have a number of ongoing resolutions from previous years that we continue to advance, and any new resolutions this year will be required to be submitted to the board at least 10 days prior to the AGM to enable the ABC team and board to review and research the resolution. With our virtual AGM, NO resolutions will be accepted from the floor. Resolutions must be submitted no later than 10 days prior to the AGM date.  The resolution must be seconded by at least one other eligible producer.

Forms for resolutions can be downloaded here: 2020 AGM Resolutions Submission Form.
